Edit your own image without starting from a template

My Golden Card’s online image editor opens your uploaded file as an image layer. Add your own wording above a photo, personalize an invitation background, or create an announcement from an existing design. New text stays editable while you work, and the image tools let you adjust the look of the uploaded picture.

How to edit an image and add text online

  1. Upload your photo or design

Choose Upload image or drag a supported file into the upload area. Start with a clear photo, invitation background, or announcement image.

  2. Add and style your text

Choose Text in the editor, add your wording, and adjust the new text layer. Use a readable font and contrasting color so your message stands out against the image.

  3. Adjust the image and layout

Select the image to change its appearance or position. Add shapes when needed, check your spelling, and use Undo if you want to reverse a change.

  4. Download the finished design

Choose an available PNG, JPG, or PDF download option and open the exported file to check it. Save your download before leaving the editor.

Image editor questions

How can I add text to my own image online?

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP file, choose the Text tool, and add a text layer. Select your new text to change its wording, font, size, color, and placement. Preview the result, then use an available download option.

Can I edit the words already inside a photo?

Words flattened into a photo are part of its pixels, not editable text layers. This editor lets you add new text above the image; it does not automatically extract or replace existing words.

Which image files can I upload?

The upload tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP files up to 20 MB. Images with a side longer than 2400 pixels are resized for editing. Very narrow or tall images outside a 1:5 to 5:1 aspect ratio need cropping before uploading.

Can I use the image editor on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in your mobile browser, choose an image from your device, and use the editor tools to add text, shapes, and image adjustments. You can also use a desktop browser.

What image adjustments are available?

Select the uploaded image layer to adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, or sepia. You can also move, resize, or rotate the image and add separate text or shape layers.

Is editing free, and which download formats are available?

You can start editing your image in the browser. The editor offers PNG, JPG, and PDF export options. Download appearance, including watermark treatment, depends on your access or plan; review the available options before exporting.

Will my uploaded project be saved for my next visit?

Uploaded-image projects are not saved between visits. Download your finished design before closing the page or opening another image. A downloaded image or PDF does not preserve separately editable text layers.
