When this tool is useful
Prepare a photo for an invitation
Crop out distracting edges, correct the orientation and add a short caption. Set the final width and height before placing text so its position suits the finished design.
Create a simple social graphic
Use a square output for a square composition, or a wider crop for a banner. Adjust the crop to match the output proportions so faces and objects do not stretch.
Improve a website image
Make a dark photo brighter, reduce excessive saturation and export at the dimensions your page actually needs. Keep the original so you can make a different version later.
Choose the right settings for your file
| Option | Use it for | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| PNG | Graphics, captions and transparent images | Lossless output keeps hard edges clear; it can be larger than JPG. |
| JPG | Photographs with an opaque background | Adjust export quality to balance detail and file size. |
| WebP | Web images that need compact files | Supports transparency. Check that the destination accepts WebP. |
Frequently asked questions
Practical answers about files, output and what this tool can do.
Can I edit a photo without uploading it to a server?
Yes. Your photo is decoded and edited inside your browser. The tool does not send it to a file-processing server.
How do I avoid stretching a cropped image?
The crop fills the output dimensions. Choose dimensions with the same proportions as the crop, or adjust the crop width and height to match your desired output.
Can I add text to a photo for free?
Yes. Open the Text tab, enter a caption, choose its size and color, then adjust its horizontal and vertical position. The caption becomes part of the downloaded image.
Can I undo all image edits?
Reset edits restores the uploaded image and default settings. Reset adjustments in the Adjust tab only resets brightness, contrast and saturation.
