02 / EVERYDAY USES

When this tool is useful

Assemble a report and its appendices

Add each PDF and move the main report ahead of supporting material. Select a file in the Files tab to inspect its pages before exporting the combined document.

Combine invitation or design proofs

Collect related PDFs in a single file so reviewers can read them in sequence. Different page sizes can remain in the merged output; merging does not make all pages the same dimensions.

Organize a group of scanned PDFs

Place the files in the order their pages should appear. If a source contains unwanted pages, extract the useful pages with Split PDF before merging.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about files, output and what this tool can do.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

No. Unlock the documents in a trusted PDF application first, then add the unlocked copies.

Does merging preserve digital signatures?

Rebuilding a document does not preserve its original digital-signature validity. Retain the signed originals and review forms and bookmarks in the merged copy.

Can I merge PDFs with different page sizes?

Yes. Pages are copied at their original sizes, so a combined PDF can contain both portrait and landscape pages of different dimensions.

Does merging reduce PDF image quality?

The merger copies ordinary page text and graphics without rendering each page as a JPEG. Document-level features such as forms, bookmarks and signatures still need review.
