How to use pdf to word

  1. Choose a PDF that contains selectable text.
  2. Select all pages or enter specific page numbers and ranges.
  3. Download the DOCX and review paragraph order and formatting in your word processor.

What you can do

Move text from a PDF into Word without copying each line manually. The converter reads the PDF text layer and creates paragraphs with page breaks in a DOCX file. It is intended for text reuse, not an exact layout reconstruction. Images, tables and complex columns are not preserved, and scanned pages without text need OCR elsewhere.

02 / EVERYDAY USES

When this tool is useful

Reuse text from a report

Extract the words into a DOCX file so you can rewrite and format them in your word processor. Check paragraph order when the original uses columns or sidebars.

Copy only a chapter or section

Enter the page numbers you need instead of converting the full document. Page breaks separate the selected source pages in the Word output.

Create a starting point for a new draft

Use the extracted text as a draft rather than expecting an exact visual copy. Add headings, tables and images again where needed after reviewing the source.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers about files, output and what this tool can do.

Can this convert scanned PDFs to Word?

No. A scanned page is an image unless it already has an OCR text layer. The tool reports when no selectable text is found.

Will tables and fonts match the PDF?

No. The output contains editable text with basic paragraph formatting. Review reading order, especially for multi-column documents.

Why is some text missing from my Word file?

Text that exists only inside an image cannot be extracted by this tool. A PDF can mix selectable text pages and scans, so compare the result with the original.

Can I convert a PDF without installing Microsoft Word?

The conversion and DOCX download run in your browser. You will need a compatible document editor to make further changes to the downloaded Word file.
