How to write a clear wedding RSVP message
Create an RSVP message that is polite, easy to answer and useful for organizing your guest list.

Ask for one clear response
Tell guests exactly what you need: confirmation, number of attendees, meal choice, or travel details. A specific request is easier to answer than a broad question.
Include a reply date that gives you enough time to organize the event.
Use a warm and direct tone
A short personal greeting followed by the event details and RSVP request is often the clearest format. Avoid hiding the reply date in a long paragraph.
For digital invitations, place the RSVP contact in both the card and the message you send with it.
Track replies privately
Keep a simple guest list with replies, follow-up dates and any important notes. This helps you avoid duplicate messages and makes catering numbers easier to confirm.
When plans change, send a direct update that names the changed detail clearly.
