Planning tips
Your digital wedding invitation checklist, from draft to send
Prepare a phone-friendly wedding invitation with a practical checklist for event details, readability, files, and guest replies.

Collect your details in one place
Before opening the editor, make one approved list of names, dates, timings, venues, and RSVP contacts. Use that list for your card, accompanying message, and any invitation video. This reduces the chance of sharing different details in different places.
- Confirm spellings with the couple and families.
- Use a full date with the month written out to avoid ambiguity.
- Check the venue address and test the map link.
- State a time zone if guests are joining a streamed ceremony from abroad.
Design for a phone screen
Give the names, event, date, and venue a clear order. Keep essential information away from busy artwork and leave space around each text block. If your schedule is long, use another card rather than shrinking everything.
Preview your invitation on a phone and ask someone else to read the smallest line. Check that names are not clipped and that decorative text remains readable against the background.
Check the file you will actually send
Download the finished invitation and open that file, rather than relying only on the editor preview. Send a test to someone you trust and check how it looks after your messaging app processes it. If the image becomes blurry, try sharing the original file as a document where your app supports that option.
For a video invitation, check the opening frame, the time each detail stays on screen, and the audio volume. Keep the key date and venue in the accompanying text so guests can find them without replaying the video.
Send thoughtfully and track replies
Send invitations individually or to appropriate family conversations. Include a short personal greeting and explain how to RSVP. Keep a private list of replies so you can follow up with guests who have not responded.
If plans change, send an explicit update that says what changed. Replace the old invitation wherever you control it, and ask guests to use the revised version.
